You forgot to tell people I told you about my conviction as a friend to
express my understanding of people falsely accused.

I was falsely accused and ultimately found guilty of a misdemeanor.

No prisoner to my knowledge has lost privileges if they did it is because Michaela
has sent in my conviction into the prisons, why? I guess to cause trouble.
I support 9 prisoners. All have their privileges.

fund raiser for inmates Prison Art

I am doing a fund raiser for FFUP forum for understanding prison. There is a lady named Peggy Swan that does over 50 blogs for 50 different inmates the most famous is Tommy Silverstein's which has been around for about 6 years, and brought the much needed attention to his plight. She does most of this from the library.

So far helping inmates in MI, AZ and WI with Tommy in Colorado.
the fund raiser is Prisoner art donated and I digitally copy it to cardstock.
Hasn't taken off but I hope it does.
All materials have been donated by me.and the shop is run by me See LittleSun's feedback If you love art, the unusual and would like to help America's prisoners this is rewarding for such a small price.

"Mickey Blue Eyes" has been in the Solitary housing Unit in Tehachapi, CA state prison for a long while he sent me this amazing gift for a birthday card I sent him.

The only one since being in prison

The artwork was first sketched with a piece of pencil lead 4cm long then with the inside part of an ink pen wrapped in paper towel he finished it.

My kids love and respect their father and me because we were there every moment of their lives we put in the work, no easy task our money, our time, our joy, our recreation were our children and they are loyal to us. I just had to say I have some wonderful children
Anastasia, Ryan, and Andrew. And 'Stasias's son my brilliant grandson Christian.
Kudos to my kids! They are loyal, law abiding tax paying, Christians, dedicated to jobs, families, friends and each other, healthy and good looking to boot what more could a mother ask for?

Wales as amatter of fact. He wrote this poem for his son George,

Giving thoughts to those incarcerated

Sadness

This may not be the most popular topic, but it is where I have found my niche, in my shop's bio I have explained long ago that my drawings and cards came out of sending mail to people, grandmothers(people with no internet, service people and prisoners. I believe my life's verse is Matthew 25:38-40 and 43. that says in part and paraphrase"...doing for the least of these you have done it to me" Guess who said it; Jesus.
Anyways I love to write to people in prison and I have found a mother that has a son in prison his name is Josh how I am helping is if you buy a card from my shop I will donate the price of the card to "Missy" for Josh's legal fees.
Thank you for indulging me and my heart's desire to help the incarcerated.

This didn't happen on Mother's Day this happened on a day being a Mother.
Early spring, early morning,about 13 years ago.Ryan was in middle school and
I had to get him there before school for practice. And as we passed the lilac bushes in bloom, I began to think outloud, "oh I wish we had lilacs in our yard I'd love to smell them". On the way home I still mused to myself, but had the baby to get to school.
Now all 3 kids had different school hours Stasia high school, Ryan middle, Andrew elementary. So they all came home different times.And I'd watch as each one walked from bus stop. Finally Ryan's turn to be home. I looked up the street (sob) and there was that boy walking proudly home with an armful of lilacs.
No words can express the feeling of pure love I felt for this boy or from this boy.
And the gratitude of my hearts desire being heard.

Recently
as a thank you to apagefromthepast I sent her guys some stickers
I got the sweetest thank you from her son Jacob pictured.
he also drew me a thank-you card. I love this . what wonderful boys.

I could here and see the firework's tonite, first I thought "And the rockets red glare the bombs bursting in air..."
then my thought as I heard the sound and smelled the sulfur
was there are people who hear these sounds but it means war
in our country it's the sound of Independence and Freedom.
Over the years many stories of people away from our country and their joy when they finally through what ever struggle first catch sight of our flag what a wonderful secure thing "Red,White and Blue"

Greg, the ongoing story...

To those that don't know, my step son, Greg was hit by a car on April 14, 2008...this is my Etsy post from that horrible night:

My step son was hit by a car today, he was 20 yrs old, a Junior in college, a great guy for 20, telling us his big plans for spring break when he turned 21...with faults and problems like all of us...big dreams too, the kind of dreams you can only dream when you are 20.
He will not survive the accident...if he does, his brain has been "damaged" beyond repair.
How I wish I could bitch at him for messing up the bathroom, or eating everything in the fridge, or just talking the stupid smack 20 yr old talk. How I wish I could see the smile on his dads face when he calls his dad...so, go hug your kids...

That night there were 20 pages of Etsy Prayers in the forums

It is Now June 14th, 2008. The kid who they said was dead, or brain damaged stood up for 2 minutes today :). He is eating like a horse and watching the Sopranos. His Dad has been with him since the accident.
It is still a SLOW battle back....

holy Angels another mothers story

This is a story of Jacob and a hospital that helped his family.
Holy Angels is a private, nonprofit corporation that provides innovative programs and services for its residents - children and adults with varying degrees of mental retardation, some of whom have physical disabilities and are medically fragile.
This mom lost her little boy just this past Dec.2007.

This is my baby Andrew
he grew up to be a firefighter. I don't have a great job,house,figure,etc.But I have great kids. Working backwards we'll start with him "the baby".
While a teen he'd go help with "coffee house" that was hosted for challenged people
he got to know the people and one little lady (2.5') with spina bifida who had to use a walker always came.
Noone asked her to dance ever so Andrew a 6'2" 14 yr. old went to his knees and asked her to dance.
His softness and care for people has only grown. Recently he got a call
that an 18 month old boy was not breathing. Andrew and his rescue team arrived and he said "he was so little mom" but got the boy breathing again. Andrew now 22 yrs old 6'6" raced the child to the hospital where he waited in the lobby until, he was sure the little guy was ok.
With relief he cried, so he came to see me to talk I told him do not be embarrassed you cried because you care. Later that week we all continued to want updates on the little guy. Then one day "Drew" called and said the baby died the hospital misdiagnosed the baby and he died of bacterial pnuemonia.
Andrew's heart was broken. But he continues to face each person with empathy, care and respect I am proud of this kid! Say a special prayer for my boy, whenever you think of it.

This verse speaks to me of so many things, but now at Mother's day time, I think of a friend who has been like a mama to me. Is there a friend who has filled in the gaps in you life,
that helped you believe in yourself? Gave you hug when you needed it?
My friend Nancy Hawks has been this person and I do "thank my God upon every remembrance" of her. My favorite quote from her when I would call "If you're coming to see me, come any time, if you're coming to see the house make an appointment"
years ago she encourage my artwork and like a mom she told me i was wonderful and talented. I didn't believe her but I loved hearing it.
We should thank the "friend mothers" I'm sending her this card.

mother's day

This my daughter Anastasia and her son Christian, "Stasia" is a thank-ful mom.
Christian was an absolute surprise if not miracle.
We were told early on that Stasia would never have children, due to a syndrom she was born with. The Dr.'s said she had "nonfunctioning ovaries".
Anyone with a little medical background has heard of "Turner's girls".
Well she reconciled this fact and one day fell in love and with tears she said she had to tell her fiance, there would be no children, she thot maybe this would be the end of relationship. After a few months of married life Stasia became quite ill.
She in Tx me in MI, the phone calls were agonizing.
Finally her husband took her to hosp. she called later to say they took her blood and that she may have cancer or be pregnant. Stasia I think was comfortable with the idea of cancer ( at least it seemed possible).She said she would have to go for an ultra sound in a few days. As I prayed and begged God for my daughter's life a miracle was forming. Several days later Stasia called I was in a panic "what is it?,What's happening?" then Stasia whispers "It' a baby." And for the next nine months it was the same this voice over the phone full of awe and wonder.
And May 16th 2000 Christian was born, Stasia named him Christian because she said she wants him to be a Christian. Well needless to say her life-long MI endochronologist was as speechless and when stasia visited here 3 years later she took him to Dr.Haque who declare what we already knew "he's perfect"
Still makes me laugh and cry. Stasia is all of 4'7" a dynamo in radio in Houston.
I send out a special Happy Mother's day to the little girl with learning disabilities who was told she'd never have a baby.
Don't underestimate, faith.

I drew this a long time ago and I wrote the text for myself at the time
But when my sister got cancer, I quoted this to her and the next thing I know she added it to her "sayings list". To date my greatest honor.*smile*
Sometimes people put us too high and expect too much. And though it looks like we can do it, we are lonely in our quest to balance our lives alone. So let's help someone who is trying to hold it together, there lives may look like they can handle it but that may only be true on the surface .They may just be balancing up there alone and we need to say "it's okay you do not have to do this ,fix this or be this alone" Bring some of the pillows down and let them sit next to you.
Just a thought.

There once were 2 men who lay in hospital beds, and they chatted daily, neither could move, the first man asked the other to tell him what he saw outside the window.
Daily the second man would tell of the birds and tree and flowers the parade that passed by the people he saw.Then one day the first man heard the 2nd no more and asked the nurse about the 2nd she said he had died,the 1st asked if he could have the bed by the window, of course they moved him.Then the first saw there was nothing more than a brick wall veiw and asked the nurse about this and told her of all the stories the 2nd had told him. The nurse said "oh he was blind".
What do you see out of your window?
Is there someone who is relying on you to help them through the day, with an optomistic view point? Can we help someone whereever we are?
It's a tough job, but you can make someone else's day better with just a happy thought
I wonder what the first man will do with his window.

To go to Jewelsbydesigns shop is like a walk through an antique store right from home
no dust! No drive way out of the way. I say these things cuz, I was just out w/ my sis & mom and we all had to stop for antihistamin after the 1st 2 shops, and my sis(who was driving )made the comment she had used up all the gas in her car.
So if you want a day in the country looking at vintage, grab mom and sis pull 'em up to the pc and browse save the allergy medicine and gas for another day.
